FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem says the FIA will not “punish the good kid” Red Bull, because “nobody’s stopping the other teams from being better”.
Since Red Bull has been completely dominating the 2022 and the 2023 seasons, many have started to call for the FIA to step in to ‘slow down’ the Austrian team.
The negative feelings regarding Red Bull’s dominance have been even more pronounced among some fans and observers, after it was revealed that the team has breached the 2021 budget cap.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem was asked if the governing organization plans to address Red Bull’s dominance.

“If we go about what’s good and bad we’ll open the door,” Ben Sulayem said.
“I mean, was it good for Mercedes? Fair enough? It is [Verstappen’s] time, it’s Red Bull’s time.
“What do we do, punish the good kid? No, let’s go and make the other teams good.
“Nobody’s stopping the other teams from being better. We cannot punish people for being better, for trying harder.
“That is unfair,” Ben Sulayem concluded.
