Lewis Hamilton says he does not “fully understand” the situation between Israel and Hamas, so he is “trying to educate” himself rather than “making uneducated judgement”.
A bloody conflict between Israel and Hamas is rocking the world right now, with no apparent solution in sight. Lewis Hamilton, who has been known to comment on world issues, says he has deliberately kept silent on the situation.
“I’ve deliberately not posted about the devastating events that are happening in the Middle East simply because I do not fully understand it and me commenting on it won’t do anybody good,” wrote the Briton on Instagram.

“I’m trying to educate myself about what is happening rather than making uneducated judgement. What I will say is every day I’m seeing people hurting and dying and it breaks my heart and spirit.
“We are better than this and so I’m just disappointed that humans continue to take each other for granted, take life for granted when it is the most precious this we have.
“I’m praying for those being impacted,” concluded Hamilton.
Well, imagine that, a person wanting to educate himself about a complicated situation before coming out with his opinion. Maybe the world would be a better place if everyone was like that. Just a thought.
