After signing with Aston Martin, Adrian Newey says he “made no secret of the fact I wanted to work with Fernando and I wanted to work with Lewis”.
After months of speculation it has now been confirmed that Red Bull’s former Chief Technical Officer has signed with Aston Martin for 2025 and beyond.
There has been a lot of talk before the signing was announced, saying that Newey could go to Ferrari to work with Lewis Hamilton, and now he confirms this was one of the possibilities that he considered.
“Once after a couple of months I decided I would like to stay in Formula 1, Ferrari was one of the considerations,” Newey told Sky Sports News.

“That was the model 20 years ago. Lawrence is the only one of that model now,” the Briton concluded.
