Red Bull’s former Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey says his “target” is to decide what his next step will be by autumn or winter.
It has been widely reported that several teams are pursuing design guru Adrian Newey to join their outfits, after his departure from Red Bull has been announced.
The main candidates being talked about are Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mercedes, McLaren, and even Williams.
While everybody originally assumed Newey will ultimately join Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, recent reports are saying that Aston Martin has made a very lucrative offer to get the legendary Briton to sign with them.
The rumours only intensified, after he was seen driving around in a vintage Aston Martin DB6. This is what Newey had to say to Sky Sports, when asked about his future plans.

“I’m still working on the RB17 [Red Bull’s hypercar], then just taking time off,” the Briton said.
“Last week, we took 7 days. We had lucky timing on the weather obviously. We went around the south coast with our dogs in an old Aston Martin DB6 and that was great fun.”
When asked if he expects to make his decision by autumn or winter, Newey said:
“Yes, that’s certainly the target. By then, I’ll need to have made my mind up,” he concluded.
