Observers recently noticed that Adrian Newey’s wife liked a social media post about him going to Ferrari, and now he has been seen at an airport in Italy.
Although this news is not directly linked to Mercedes, it is potentially a big deal for Lewis Hamilton, and he is still a Mercedes driver, so here we go.
Ever since it was announced that Lewis Hamilton would join Ferrari in 2025, there have been a lot of rumours floating around that Red Bull’ Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey could soon follow him.
The speculation only intensified amid Red Bull’s internal struggles which reportedly pitted team boss Christian Horner against a camp that includes Max Verstappen and his father Jos, as well as the team’s advisor Dr Helmut Marko.
Interestingly, observers noticed that Adrian Newey’s wife Amanda recently liked a post regarding her husband allegedly having ‘regrets’ over never having worked for Ferrari.
“Now’s your chance to tick off those regrets, Adrian,” the post read.
Now, Newey has allegedy been seen in Italy at the Bologna airport, which is around 40 kilometers (25 miles) distance from Ferrari’s Maranello HQ.

“Losing Adrian Newey would be just as great as losing Max Verstappen,“ wrote Auto Motor und Sport journalist Michael Schmidt.
“And there is nothing he hates more than internal politics. Ever since things started going wrong at Red Bull, the competition has tasted blood.”
Schmidt then said Newey now seems serious regarding a potential move to Ferrari.
“But at the end of his career, it would be the crowning achievement. And it seems that this time he is serious,“ Schmidt concluded.
When Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was recently asked if this was a possibility, the Austrian confirmed this was indeed possible.
“Everything is always possible in this crazy carousel, I wouldn’t rule anything out,” Wolff said.
