When asked about the possibility of Adrian Newey coming to Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton said “it’s going to be a really interesting next six months or so”.

On Friday, credible reports came out saying that Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey has informed the team that he intends to leave.

While Red Bull has issued a statement saying they are not aware of Newey’s intention to leave, outlets like BBC and Autosport still stand by their original reports.

Speculation is now running rampant in the F1 media regarding where the legendary designer will choose to go next, with Ferrari being mentioned as the most likely choice.

Well, back in Saudi Arabia, Lewis Hamilton was asked if there is a possibility that Newey might join him at Ferrari. Here’s what he had to say.

“I think my move has shown that anything’s possible and it’s going to be a really interesting next six months or so,” Hamilton said.

“Having worked within the team, I know obviously Adrian gets all the praise for everybody’s work.

“I know he’s a huge part of it, but I know there’s so many engineers in the background that are a huge part of developing the team and the car that they have and it’s not down to one person.

“So it’s not my decision. I’m competing against him this year at the moment, so I can’t really talk about next year so far just yet,” the Briton concluded.
