After their race-long battle at the Canadian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso says “the last driver you want to see in your mirrors is Lewis Hamilton when he comes fast”.
Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have been involved in a race-long battle for P2 at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Fernando first lost his P2 at the start of the race, as Hamilton was able to overtake him, but he later managed to take the position back on Lap 22.
Lewis then chased the two-time champion for most of the race, but was ultimately unable to beat him.
After the race, Alonso had only words of praise for his former McLaren team-mate.

“The last driver you want to see in your mirrors is Lewis Hamilton when he comes fast,” the Spaniard said.
“But I had a little bit more pace in hand and in the end he was never in the DRS gap so, it was good to finish second.
“It was like 70 laps of qualifying today. There was not time to rest, and I loved it,” Alonso concluded.
