Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz disagree with those who say Lewis Hamilton won the Brazilian Grand Prix ‘because of the car’.
At the Brazilian Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton gave one of the best performances of his career when he went from P20 to P5 in the Sprint Race, and then from P10 to a win in the main race.
Some, of course, now say that Lewis’ out-of-this-world performance was due to his car being superior in Brazil. Charles Leclerc, who went wheel-to-wheel with Hamilton several times in 2019, disagrees.
“I don’t agree,” Leclerc said when asked to give his opinion.

“Obviously Lewis has a very strong car at the moment, but I think he managed to go beyond what that car could give.”
His team-mate Carlos Sainz also doesn’t agree with this statement, instead he says a great performance is always a combination of several factors.
“Yes, I saw this debate all over social media today,” Sainz said.
“Why don’t we talk about a combination of both? A great driver, an enormously talented driver, with a car that was really dominant this weekend.”
