After it was announced that Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025, a lot of details regarding his contract have emerged. Here’s what’s being reported so far.
Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari in 2025, on a “multi-year contract”. This is the only official announcement we have, however, a lot of details about Lewis’ contract have since been reported.
Now, it has to be taken into account that everything that is being reported is a rumour, until it has been officially confirmed. However, contract details are usually kept confidential, so some of them we can never be 100% certain about.
With that out of the way, here is what has been reported in recent days, mostly by Italian media.
It is being reported that Lewis’ contract is a three-year deal, with some reports saying it is actually a 2 + 1 deal, which means he will definitely drive for the team in 2025 and 2026.

Lewis’ base salary is said to be around £80 million per year, however, it is being reported that Ferrari will also commit to the Briton’s outside projects like his Mission 44 charity, which will reportedly set the Italian team back by around £300 million.
It is also being reported that Ferrari chairman John Elkann was the main driving force behind Hamilton’s signing, and he is said to have a good off-track relationship with Lewis, so he is willing to invest in the Briton’s other off-track endeavours.
There are also rumours swirling around about Lewis being promissed a position of Ferrari brand ambassador after his racing career is over, but this has not been confirmed by any reputable source.
This is what has emerged so far, but take everything with a grain of salt, as the only detail officially confirmed is that Lewis has signed a “multi-year contract”.
