F1 CEO is looking forward to the continued Max / Lewis rivalry

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says he is looking forward to the “continued rivalry” between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is 2022.

During the Q4 2021 Formula 1 results and earnings call, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali talked about what he is looking forward to in the 2022 season.

“The 2021 season will be discussed for decades to come as one of the greatest,” the Italian said.

“It came down to not just the final race, but to the final match for Max Verstappen to edge past Lewis Hamilton and win his first World Championship.

“We look forward to this continued rivalry in 2022 between Max and Lewis, who will be returning to pursue his eighth World Championship.”

Domenicali is also looking forward to the new driver pairing of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, as well as some new drivers on the grid.

“And we hope to see new drivers moving up the field to challenge for poses more regularly.

“We look forward to the new pairing of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, the return of Alex Albon and we welcome a new driver from the grid with Guanyu Zhou joining Alfa Romeo, who would provide an exciting opportunity to engage and grow our fan base in China,” Domenicali concluded.
