After taking part in his first test with the Mercedes-powered Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso praised the “outstanding” Mercedes power unit.
In 2023, Fernando Alonso will drive for Aston Martin, after two years with Alpine. This will be the first time that the Spaniard will drive a car powered by a Mercedes power unit, since his time with McLaren in 2007.
He already had an opportunity to test out the Aston Martin car for the first time, in the Abu Dhabi Pirelli post-season test.
Later, when he was giving his comments on the experience, Alonso especially praised the Mercedes power unit.

”When they told me the mileage of the engine, I was a bit worried,” the Spaniard said.
“Because I said this number is a bit high compared to my standards [at Alpine].
“The engine is definitely outstanding,” Alonso concluded.
