George Russell wasn’t happy with Charles Leclerc’s defending manoeuvres at the British Grand Prix, which included moving under breaking.
At the British Grand Prix, George Russell was engaged in a battle with Charles Leclerc, and tried to pass him several times, but Charles at certain points very clearly moved under breaking.
This caused George to complain to his race engineer.
“If that’s not moving under braking then I don’t know what is,” he said.
Charles’ engineer Xavier Marcos Padros even went on the radio to warn him that there should be “no more moving under braking”.
After the race, George said Charles’s employed “some questionable defending at points”.
The Briton later further explained what he meant by that.

“It was just about braking into Turn 16. I was about to lunge him down inside and right at the braking zone he came across pretty aggressively.
“That’s clearly not allowed in the rules. I think they gave him a slap on the wrist.
“But you know when you’ve got one overtaking opportunity and [he gets] sort of a warning for it, it’s a bit frustrating.”
Ultimately, George says he does not feel the need to bring this up at the next drivers’ meeting.
“I don’t think I need to. It was very borderline. I need to look at a video again. It felt on the limit from within the car, or maybe just over the limit. I’ve not seen a replay.
“I’m not too concerned about it right now,” Russell concluded.
