After an intense war of words with Max Verstappen, George Russell was asked if he and the Dutch driver could ever be team-mates now.
Max Verstappen and George Russell have been involved in a very intense war of words that started when Max accused George of being two-faced.
Since Verstappen’s name has been on Mercedes’ radar for some time now, with team boss Toto Wolff stating earlier this year that he wants the Dutchman in his team, George was asked by journalists if he could ever be team-mates with Max.
“Things happen and people move on,” the Briton said.
“We’re adults and we’re mature. Right now, it’s not even something I’m thinking about.

“I never had the intention of throwing Max under the bus like this, until he comes out and slams me so personally.
“This is not like I’m angry with Max, this is me just setting the record straight.
“Because, I’m not going to stand here watching some guy slam me personally, as he has done,” Russell concluded.
Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull until 2028, but it has been reported that there are clauses in his contract that could allow him to leave the team earlier.
