George Russell has picked up the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the Commonwealth driver who finished highest in the previous season’s standings.
This year, George Russell has won the prestigious Hawthorn Memorial Trophy for the first time in his career. The trophy is awarded to the Commonwealth driver who finished highest in the previous season’s standings.
George finished the 2022 season in P4, beating out his team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who finished the season in P6.

Lewis on the other hand has won the trophy 11 times, the most out of anybody in history. He is followed by Nigel Mansell and Jenson Button, who won the trophy seven and five times respectively.
The trophy has been named after Mike Hawthorn, the first British World Champion, who won the title in 1958.
Motorsport UK chief David Richards presented Russell with the trophy at Silverstone.
