Immediately following the controversial end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, George Russell said the decisions the FIA made in the final laps of the race were “unacceptable”.

The controversial (and now disputed) end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen basically being gifted a victory and the world title by some questionable manoeuvring by the FIA with the Safety Car.

Mercedes has since lodged two protests over this, but immediately after the race Williams’ George Russell tweeted the FIA’s decisions were “unacceptable”.

“This is unacceptable,” the Briton wrote in all caps.

“Max is an absolutely fantastic driver who has had an incredible season and I have nothing but huge respect for him, but what just happened is absolutely unacceptable.

“I cannot believe what we’ve just seen,” concluded Russell.
