The FIA decided not to take any action against Lewis Hamilton for wearing jewellery at the Bahrain Grand Prix, after receiving a medical report.

Ahead of Bahrain Grand Prix FP1, the FIA had a little issue with Mercedes, regarding Lewis Hamilton’s piercings.

After Mercedes had submitted its scrutineering reports, the FIA started an investigation because Lewis Hamilton allegedly did not comply with a requirement not to wear “any jewellery, in the form of body piercing or metal neck chains or watches”.

Ultimately, after an examination by the FIA’s Medical Delegate, the governing organization decided to allow Hamilton to wear jewellery on medical ground.

“The Stewards, having heard from a team representative and receiving a medical report from the team doctor of Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS F1 Team, which requested an exemption,” read a statement from the FIA.

“The Stewards consulted the FIA Medical Delegate, who viewed the medical report, examined the driver and concurred with the opinion therein.

”We have determined to take no further action as there are concerns about disfigurement with frequent attempts at removal of the device,” the statement concluded.
