Hamilton and Wolff promise a “step forward coming in the next race”

After the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff say Mercedes has “something coming for Miami that looks like a good step”.

After a difficult Chinese Grand Prix, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff revealed Mercedes will introduce some updates at the next race in Miami.

“I think considering where we put the cars all together, drivers and team was not a good position for today,” the Austrian said.

“Yeah, not good enough overall. P6 I think and P10 [actually P9], but it’s lacking pace. So we gotta dig deep.

“We have something coming for Miami that looks like a good step. Let’s see where that brings us out.”

When asked what the new parts will bring in lap time, Toto said:

After the race, Lewis Hamilton also confirmed Mercedes has something new in the works.

“I think we have some step forward coming in the next race,” he said.

“And so until then, we’ll be back in the factory next week and just try and position the car better for Miami,” Lewis concluded.
