Lewis Hamilton says he disagrees that the way Max Verstappen raced against Lando Norris in Austria, was similar to how their 2021 battles.
Near the end of the Austrian Grand Prix, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen collided while fighting for the race win.
The Dutch driver was handed a ten-second penalty for causing the collision, and his antics throughout the entire fight reminded observers of the way he raced against Lewis Hamilton back in 2021.
Afterwards, McLaren’s Team Principal Andrea Stella said Verstappen would not be doing these things today, had he been properly punished back then.
However, while sitting alongside Norris at the British Grand Prix Thursday press conference, Lewis said he does not agree with Stella’s comparison.
“I don’t agree with that, no,” Lewis said.

When asked if he could explain why he disagrees, he just repeated: “I don’t agree with it.”
Earlier, when asked about Verstappen’s clash with Norris, Hamilton did not want to get drawn into the discussion.
“Nothing really. I didn’t think anything [about the incident]. I was more concerned about my race and enjoying the team’s win.”
Asked if he has any advice for Lando regarding racing Max, Lewis said:
“Again, I don’t think I need to [give advice], they have raced each other for many years,” the Briton concluded.
