After the Austrian Grand Prix, Aston Martin lodged a protest against the provisional race classification due to track limit offences. It has been upheld by the FIA and a new race classification has been released.

A large number of drivers has been penalised at the Austrian Grand Prix for breaching track limits, however after the race Aston Martin lodged a protest against the provisional race classification. The British team has claimed that a number of drivers were not penalised for repeatedly breaching track limits.

The FIA revealed after the race that it was unable to review over 1200 cases that have been reported for alleged track limit infringements.

The governing organization has since upheld Aston Martin’s protest, claiming that a list of deleted lap times provided by race control has revealed cases that have not been sanctioned.
