After Romain Grosjean managed to escape the fiery wreck of his car with only minor injuries, Lewis Hamilton had words of praise and support for the Frenchman.
At the Bahrain Grand Prix Romain Grosjean suffered a horrific accident that tore his car in two and left it in flames. Thankfully, the Frenchman managed to keep his composure and dramatically jump out of the flame, suffering only minor injuries. Immediately after the race Lewis posted his thoughts on his social media channels.
“I’m so grateful Romain is safe,” wrote the Briton.
“Wow… the risk we take is no joke, for those of you out there that forget that we put our life on the line for this sport and for what we love to do.
“Thankful to the FIA for the massive strides we’ve taken for Romain to walk away from that safely.”
Later that day Lewis again wrote his thoughts down in another post, also mentioning Lance Stroll, whose car turned upside down after a racing incident.
“What a crazy day. I’m so glad that both Romain and Lance were able to walk away from their accidents today. I’m wishing you both a speedy recovery.
“That was a tough race overall, I’m sure the other drivers felt it too. It’s a reminder to us and hopefully to the people who are watching that this is a dangerous sport, whilst we’re out there pushing the limits. We have to respect it.

“So grateful to the marshals and medical teams for the work they’ve done to put safety first today. I’m so thankful to my team, they did a great job with the strategy and what a privilege this is to get another podium.
“Want to say a massive thank you to #TeamLH you guys are amazing. Thank you for all your support. I’m sending you all love and positivity.”
In his last post, Hamilton shared a video of Grosjean jumping out of the flame with the following message:
“This could have been any one of us sitting in hospital but the strength he’s shown is amazing to see.”
“I’d like to thank our marshals and medical team for being on the scene and tending to Romain without hesitation.
“Knowing that you’re there to pick us up when we fall is helpful,” concluded the Briton.
