Lewis Hamilton says he didn’t tell anybody about his decision to move to Ferrari, not even his parents knew “till the day of it being announced”.
Lewis Hamilton shocked the world when it was announced that he had signed a deal to join Ferrari in 2025.
During his appearance on BBC podcast series ‘F1: Back at Base’, he revealed he didn’t talk about the move with anybody, because he wanted to make this decision for himself.
The only person Lewis had told the news to, ahead of the official announcement, was Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff.

“I didn’t speak to anybody,” the Briton said.
“I didn’t tell my parents till the day of it being announced. So, no one knew. I really wanted to do it for myself.
“Ultimately, I had to find out what would be the best for me,” Hamilton concluded.
