‘Ted Lasso’ star and Eurovision host Hannah Waddingham makes it a point to call Lewis Hamilton an eight-time champion while talking to David Coulthard at the British Grand Prix.

The star of the ‘Ted Lasso’ series and famous Eurovision host Hannah Waddingham was walking the grid, when David Coulthard approached her to ask a few questions for Channel 4.

“I’ve been binge-watching you,” Coulthard said.

“You’ve been making appearances everywhere.”

She quickly responded with:

“Have you? I know people must be sick of the sight of me, I do apologise.”

She then proceeded to make a reference to the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton lost his almost guaranteed eighth F1 championship win, due to race director applying the rules wrong.

The FIA ultimately admitted the decisions were a result of a “human error”, and many fans and observers think Lewis was unfairly ‘cheated’ out of his deserved title win.

“I’ve waited a long time to be here, and am I allowed to say that I’m very much looking forward to seeing Lewis Hamilton, eight-time champion?” she asked Coulthard.

“You can say whatever you want! I don’t think many people would disagree with that, he’s a legend of the sport,” the Scot replied.

“He’s just phenomenal,” Waddingham agreed.

“I hope I get to meet him and give him a little curtsy,” she added.
