Dr Helmut Marko says Mercedes is a bigger threat to Red Bull than Ferrari, because “they are the more stable team and they have Hamilton”, who he describes as “a very special driver”.
Mercedes has been struggling with its car for most of 2022, and therefore wasn’t able to challenge Red Bull and Ferrari for the championship.
However, while Ferrari was a bigger threat to Red Bull this year, the Austrian team’s advisor Dr Helmut Marko says he sees Mercedes as the biggest threat in 2023.
“Definitely Mercedes,” Marko told Auto Motor und Sport.

“They are the more stable team and they have Hamilton.
“Even though it might have gone down [for him] this year, he is a very special driver. In between, he has shown time and again with his lap times that he is a top man.
“That is simply a much stronger package than Ferrari,” the Austrian concluded.
