After Mercedes’ superb 1-2 victory at the Australian Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli says he is “looking forward to next week”.
Mercedes started the 2026 season in spectacular fashion, with a dominant 1-2 victory.
After the race Kimi Antonelli, who finished in P2, behind team-mate George Russell, was very happy with Mercedes’ performance.
The only thing he had an issue with was the race start, where Ferrari performed much better.
“It was the best start [to the season] we could have wished for,” the Italian said.

“Unfortunately, the start was really bad and lost a lot of places and I find myself having to recover.
“Overall, it was a good race. The pace was very strong, especially at the end and I’m just looking forward to next week!
“The racing was incredible the first few laps, with the overtake it’s powerful and that can give a lot of action.
“So it was really good fun at the beginning,” Antonelli concluded.
