Mercedes has fitted Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s cars with new power unit components ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Earlier this week the FIA announced that the rule limiting how many power unit components a driver can use in a season has been relaxed.

Up until now drivers were allowed to use up to three Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Turbo Charger, MGU-H, and MGU-K elements a year, without any penalties, but now this has been increased to four.

Teams immediately decided to take advantage of this change, and so ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, 17 out of 20 drivers will be getting new power unit components.

Among them are Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who will both get new ICEs, turbocharges, MGU-Hs, MGU-Ks and exhausts.
