Amid media speculation that Lewis Hamilton has already mentally gone to Ferrari, the Briton says he’s “100% a Mercedes driver”, and adds “there’s no other team that’s had what we’ve had”.
Lewis Hamilton will be leaving Mercedes at the end of 2024, after 12 years with the team. The Briton is then set to go to Ferrari in 2025.
Considering how this is Lewis’ last year with Mercedes, and considering how Mercedes’ 2025 car did not perform as expected in the first two race of the 2024 season, some pundits have started speculating that Lewis has checked out and is mentally already at Ferrari.
However, the Briton took to social media to shut down any such talks.
“I’m 100% a Mercedes driver right now, and thats my only focus this year,” Lewis wrote.
“I don’t want it [switch to Ferrari] to be distracting me from doing the job for this team. I want to finish on a high.

“It’s not just a normal driver partnering. There’s no other team that’s had what we’ve had. There’s no other team that’s achieved what we’ve achieved.
“The relationships I have with the people within my team go very deep. My goal is to deliver for them this year.
“If I can have the best year in terms of delivery, then I’ll be really happy with that. Next year, I’m starting all new relationships, a whole new environment, new language, everything.
“It’s two separate things and probably just as exciting,” Hamilton concluded.
