Mercedes will be launching their 2022 car on February 18 in a “special digital launch event” where both of their drivers are scheduled to speak to the media.

Mercedes has recently revealed that their 2022 car – the W13 will be launched on February 18 in a “special digital launch event”. Sky Sports F1 reports the team has announced that both of their drivers will give virtual media interviews at the event.

Although Lewis Hamilton has not spoken to the media since the controversial ending of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and his return in 2022 is thought to be in doubt, it has never been officially indicated (by Lewis or Mercedes) that there is a possibility he will not be on the grid once the season starts in March.

As things stand now, Lewis has a contract with Mercedes that runs until the end of 2023, and there is no official indication that the contract will not be honoured.

So, at this moment we can expect to hear from Lewis and his new team-mate George Russell on February 18.

In the meantime the FIA is conducting an investigation into the controversial decisions made by race director Michael Masi in Abu Dhabi, and we will be providing you with updates as they become available.
