Lewis Hamilton exited the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Qualifying in Q1, for the first time since 2017. He explains what happened.

After finishing the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Qualifying in P16, Lewis Hamilton gave his first comments on the difficult session.

“Just struggled with the balance of the car, and not where I want to be,” Hamilton said.

“It’s something in the set-up. It was looking good in FP3 and we tried to progress in a similar direction.

“Maybe we went too far and then the car was undriveable. It’s so nervous.”

Asked if he will be able to cut through the field in the race tomorrow, Lewis said:

“I’ve got the same car as I had in qualifying, so I don’t anticipate moving that far forwards.

“But I’ll give it everything,” Hamilton concluded.
