Lewis Hamilton hopes Mercedes can maintain its momentum

Lewis Hamilton goes into the second half of the 2021 season with an eight point advantage over Max Verstappen. He hopes the momentum can be maintained.

In the last two races of before the Formula 1 summer break, Mercedes seemed to have closed the performance deficit to Red Bull a bit.

Lewis Hamilton hopes this can be maintained when Formula 1 returns.

“I really hope so,” the Briton told Motorsport-Total, when asked if Mercedes will be able to maintain its momentum.

“But it’s going to be hard work. We’ve made a really good step forward. From Monaco it got very intense and the update worked well.

“We worked on our processes on the weekends and tried to get more out of the car. I think we’re much closer now.

“We learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately, because we would wish they didn’t happen in the first place.

“But it’s not about how you fall, it’s about how you get up again,” concluded the seven-time champion.
