Ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton sent a message to his fans and explained “a complex battlefield of the mind” that goes on under a driver’s helmet.
Hamilton is starting the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix from pole, after another of his amazing qualifying drives. On social media the seven-time champion explains his mindset going into the race.
“Under the helmet is a complex battlefield of the mind,” Hamilton wrote.
“Fragile, hostile, peaceful, loving and fierce. Mental focus is everything in this business. It’s all about balance.

“Reason, fact, what to store, what to not. Cannot afford to let anything or anyone mess with your energy.
“I tell myself, I am but a vessel of light and love, I can be anything, I am brave, I am strong, I am powerful beyond measure.
“Know that where ever you are, no matter your situation, you can overcome anything with the mind.
“I believe in you, so should you,” concluded Lewis.
