Lewis Hamilton had a difficult time at the Austrian Grand Prix, and could often be heard complaining on the radio about the driveability of the car, even prompting team boss Toto Wolff to try and calm him down.

Lewis Hamilton finished the Austrian Grand Prix in P7, and over the course of the race he could be heard complaining to the team about the W14’s driveability.

This prompted Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff to at one point come on the radio, to try and get Lewis to calm down a bit.

“Lewis, the car is bad, we know,” the Austrian said..

“Please drive it,” he concluded.

After the race, Lewis was much calmer and just said the Red Bull Ring showed Mercedes what they need to work on with the car.

“Lando [Norris] did a great job today, McLaren were super quick,” Lewis said.

“Wasn’t expecting them to be as fast as they were but we weren’t expecting to be as slow as we were either.

“This track just highlighted some areas for us to work on. Not the greatest of days.”

When asked if he was surprised by how his car felt during the race, Lewis said he wasn’t.

“The way the car felt doesn’t surprise me, no,” Hamilton concluded.
