Lewis Hamilton admits his ‘frustration took over’ during the Austrian Grand Prix, which led to his vocal complaints regarding his car’s driveability.

Over the course of the Austrian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton could be heard complaining to the team about the W14’s driveability.

“This car’s slow, mate,” Lewis said.

“I can’t keep it on the track, the car won’t turn,” he added.

This prompted Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff to come on the radio and say: “Lewis, the car is bad, we know, please drive it.”

After the race Lewis took to Instagram to explain that in those moments ‘frustration took over’.

“There are days when I can say I’m truly proud of myself and days like today when frustration takes over,” Lewis wrote.

“In a race it can feel like you’re hanging off a cliff and losing the strength to hold on.

“It’s confusing for us to have such strong performances one day and then be nowhere the next.

“But when you really care about what you’re doing you brush it off and keep fighting,” Hamilton concluded.
