After getting P3 at the Singapore Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton says “the team did an amazing job”, and comments on George Russell’s late crash.
After a thrilling finish to the Singapore Grand Prix, which included George Russell crashing in the final lap of the race, Lewis Hamilton managed to finish in P3, behind Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.
After the race, Lewis commended Mercedes for doing a great job.
“Congratulations to Carlos and Lando,“ the Briton said.
“They did a great job today and their strategy worked. We rolled the dice this weekend and went with a different amount of tyres into qualifying to have the option of what we did today.

“I felt it was a two-stop [race] but I think the team did an amazing job to get us back up there. It was a real shame the first corner but I kept my head down and kept pushing.”
Lewis also commented on George’s crash.
“Extremely unfortunate for George, we were pushing so hard to catch these guys and our tyres were so hot.
“But I know he will bounce back, he’s been phenomenal all weekend,” Hamilton concluded.
