Lewis Hamilton says it’s “really positive to see” that Mercedes has brought upgrades “three races in a row”, and adds: “Hopefully in the next race I’ll have the [new] front wing too.”
After bringing upgrades for two races in a row, Mercedes introduced another new component – a new front wing – at the Monaco Grand Prix.
However, as only one component was made, the team internally agreed that George Russell will be the one to try it out in Monaco.
The team’s Trackside Engineering Director Andrew Shovlin has since confirmed that Lewis Hamilton’s car will also be fitted with the new component at the next race in Canada.
After finishing the Monaco Grand Prix in P7, Lewis Hamilton said the W15’s performance is improving, and praised the team for brining upgrades.

“The signs of performance this weekend have been encouraging,“ Hamilton said.
“And three races in a row we’ve brought upgrades. That’s really positive to see.
“Bit by bit we’ve got drips coming through and hopefully in the next race I’ll have the front wing too.
“I’ll go to Canada and as always give my absolute everything, and it’s good to see the team are bringing performance,” the Briton concluded.
