Mercedes hires a former Red Bull senior figure for special advisor role

Mercedes has confirmed that they signed a former Red Bull senior figure Jayne Poole, to act as a special advisor for the team.

Mercedes has confirmed that the team has signed former Red Bull HR director and COO Jayne Poole, to act as their new special advisor.

Autosport reports Poole could be seen on Friday arriving in the Bahrain paddock with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff.

The publication reports that Poole is expected to work closely with Wolff to evaluate Mercedes’ current infrastructure and advise on potential changes the team could make under the cost cap.

Poole has provided support for Red Bull team boss Christian Horner for years, and is considered a respected figure in the F1 paddock.

She was a guest of Mercedes at the Bahrain Pre-Season Test, and will remain with the team for the whole Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.

After numerous reports of Red Bull signing Mercedes talent, this is the first major Red Bull figure that Mercedes has signed.
