Russell provides an update on Mercedes’ 2023 car building efforts

George Russell says Mercedes’ “factory is pumping at the moment”, and adds “hopefully when we hit the ground in Bahrain we will be fighting for the championship”.

The 2022 Formula 1 season is over, but according to George Russell, there is not rest at Mercedes’ factory.

While attending the Autosport Awards ceremony, George Russell was asked to provide an update on how things are going at Mercedes’ factory.

“The factory is pumping at the moment,” the Briton said.

“I think the progress we’ve made throughout this year has been inspiring to see and everyone wants to make sure we do not have a repeat of this year and not be fighting for the championship.

“Everybody is pushing as hard as they can and hopefully when we hit the ground in Bahrain we will be fighting for the championship,” Russell concluded.
