After Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s boycott of Sky Sports, Ted Kravitz once again openly points to the controversial finish of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and its unjust outcome.

Back in 2022, Sky Sports’ Ted Kravitz got into hot water with Max Verstappen and Red Bull, after he openly said Lewis Hamilton was “robbed” at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Kravitz made his comments after the 2022 United States Grand Prix, in response to Hamilton’s inability to hold off Verstappen, to get his first win of the 2022 season.

“Seven-time World Champion – I almost said eight-time World Champion… Seven-time World Champion goes into the final race [of 2021] trying to be the greatest of all time, and win [the] championship,” Kravitz said.

“He gets robbed, comes back, his next year’s car is rubbish, doesn’t win a race all year, and then finally comes back at a track where he could win the first race all year, battling the same guy who won the race he was robbed in the previous year, and manages to finish ahead of him.

“What a script and a story that would have been. But that’s not the way the script turned out, was it?

“Because the guy that beat him after being robbed actually overtook him, because he’s got a quicker car, because of engineering and Formula One and design.

“And pretty much because of [Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer] over there,” the Briton concluded.

After this Max Verstappen decided not to talk to Sky Sports during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, and he was quickly backed by his team – Red Bull.

This however wasn’t the first time Kravitz openly criticised what happened in Abu Dhabi. After it was announced that race director Michael Masi was dismissed from his role by the FIA, Kravitz openly said the Australian “didn’t interpret the rules in the way that they’ve been written”, which “cost Lewis Hamilton an eighth world championship – gave it to Max Verstappen”.

Well, now, while talking about his expectations for the 2023 season, Kravitz said Red Bull have “the best driver on the grid, in terms of form, at the moment, even considering Lewis Hamilton”.

While clarifying his point, Kravitz again pointed to Abu Dhabi, and knowing his thoughts on the issue, obviously pointed to the injustice that happened there.

“Lewis’ form, we haven’t seen the championship form of Lewis yet because he hasn’t been in a championship [fight] since the end of 2021, which we all know what happened then,” the Briton concluded.
