After the final qualifying session of the 2023 season, Toto Wolff says he’s “fed up with having explanations on why it didn’t go well”.

After getting P1 in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix FP3, George Russell qualified for the race in P4. Lewis Hamilton qualified in P11.

Afterwards, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said he is happy that the difficult 2023 season is nearing its end.

“FP3 was dominant,” the Austrian said.

“Norris could have probably been there, and would have in qualifying by the way.

“It just didn’t come together. Probably that’s what was in the car. Expectations were higher.

“I’m fed up with having explanations on why it didn’t go well. We were good in the hot, we weren’t in the cold. Previous days it has been the other way around.

“I’m happy this was the last qualifying of the season and we will come with a new car.”

As for Lewis’ performance, Toto said:

“Just no grip, contrary to George, pretty much all day today,” he concluded.
