Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff talks about Lewis Hamilton’s contract and says he doesn’t “see any indication that we need to change anything”.
Lewis Hamilton’s current Mercedes contract is expiring at the end of 2023, however, there has been a lot of talk about an extension.
Toto Wolff said on numerous occasions that Lewis’ contract renewal is just a formality, and when Auto Motor und Sport suggested that the Briton is supposedly ‘begging’ for a new deal, Wolff completely dismissed the notion.
“I don’t see it that way at all,” team boss Wolff insists.

“I said very early on that Lewis will always have a seat with us. A decision is always discussed between us.
“And Lewis would be the first to say if he’s not enjoying it anymore or thinks he has deficits.
“In this respect, we want to continue and we will certainly negotiate as in previous years.
“I don’t see any indication that we need to change anything.”
