On Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ Toto Wolff gave new comments on his rivalry with Christian Horner, and the controversial finish of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Unsurprisingly, Season 4 of Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ covers the controversial last race of the 2021 season, in which race director Michael Masi ultimately broke the rules and basically gifted the world title to Max Verstappen.

As the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix approached, the main protagonists gave their comments, with Red Bull team boss Christian Horner saying that “nothing has gone our way”, following Lewis Hamilton’s three wins in a row.

Toto Wolff commented on Horner’s constant whining by saying that “Red Bull is a bit like the baby throwing toys out of the pram”.

In the closing moments of the race, after Masi’s unjust decisions have been made, Netflix showed some of Lewis Hamilton’s previously unseen comments, which fit what has happened perfectly.

“I’ve always had a target on my back, since I started racing,” the Briton said.

“It does feel like people can be out to get you.”

After everything was said and done, Toto Wolff gave a blunt assessment of the final moments of the race.

“I didn’t even see Max crossing the line,” the Austrian said.

“The decision was simply wrong. And it’s clear that this is going to leave some scars on Lewis, myself and the team.”

Looking ahead at 2022, he added:

“Lewis had done everything that was necessary to win the championship. It was taken away from him.

“And there’s nothing better that they could have done to motivate us.”

However, despite the heartbreak, he remained respectful toward Max Verstappen,

“Max was worthy of winning the championship, but not in the way it happened. If you’re doing a good enough job, you will win the race. But here, that is not how it went.

“The decision was simply wrong,” Wolff concluded.
