Toto Wolff and Red Bull team boss Christian Horner are continuing their war of war of words over the possible “bendy” wing protest.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that his team could protest Red Bull for using a ‘flexible rear wing’.
This race weekend the FIA has placed locator dots on the rear wings of the cars to detect how much the wings flex.
Wolff says the data is being analyzed and he doesn’t rule out a protest after the race.
“This whole story about flexible wings is annoying everyone, me included,” the Austrian said.
“I don’t know at the moment how their wings worked today and how they will work tomorrow. The decision will be made later.
“Nobody wants to go to court. It’s only counterproductive for our sport.”
Some have said that this last statement is Toto Wolff backpedalling, because observers have noted even Mercedes’ wings have shown signs of ‘flexing’.

Christian Horner said Mercedes might want to rethink their possible protest, as they might find themselves in worse position than Red Bull.
“If I were Toto, with the front wing he’s got on his car, I’d keep my mouth shut,” Horner said.
“If anything, it looks maybe a bit worse than ours.”
It didn’t take long for Wolff to hit back.
“He’s just a windbag who likes to see himself in front of a camera,” Wolff tolds Sky Deutschland.
“I think it’s better for him to be humble and remember that it was he who was disqualified in 2014 with a flexible front wing,” concluded the Austrian.
At the post Azerbaijan Grand Prix Qualifying press conference Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen jokingly agreed the team bosses should settle their differences “in the ring”.
