After securing a dominant 1-2 victory at the Styrian Grand Prix, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was overjoyed, but he isn’t letting his guard down.

Although Valtteri Bottas managed to overtake Max Verstappen in the final stages of the race, Wolff is aware that Red Bull has the capability to take the fight to Mercedes in the future.

“We have not seen the real Red Bull yet,” Wolff told Auto, Motor und Sport.

“Max Verstappen drove in the dirty air with an ultimately damaged car.

However Wolff also said something that sounded a lot like a warning to Mercedes’ competition: “But we haven’t seen the real Mercedes yet, you know”.

Speaking of the battle with Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas thought it made for an interesting race.

“That battle made the race a lot more interesting for me and I had a clear target to chase,” the Finn told Sky Sports F1.

“That helps tremendously in maintaining concentration and speed. I am glad I got him in the end.

“I had one go but didn’t quite work, but at least the second time it went okay.”
