While discussing if it would be difficult for him if he fell into a winless slump like Lewis Hamilton did in 2022 and 2023, Max Verstappen took the opportunity to take a shot at his rival.

Lewis Hamilton has won a race in every Formula 1 season he competed in from his debut in 2007, until his last title fight in 2021.

Unfortunately, due to Mercedes’ performance issues, the Briton was not able to win any races in the following two seasons.

While talking to Blick, Max Verstappen was asked if it would be difficult for him if he fell into a winless slump like Lewis did.

The Dutch driver mentioned the fact that he encountered a similar situation during a time when Red Bull was not able to regularly fight for top positions, but he also decided to take a shot at Lewis.

“I did it too,” Verstappen said.

“No, wait. That’s not true. I was able to get a win every now and then.

“Well, periods like this can happen, but I prefer not to think about it, because they eat up the necessary energies in you,” the Dutchman concluded.
