Ahead of the 2024 season, Toto Wolff says he “wouldn’t have hoped for anyone better” than James Allison to manage Mercedes’ technical department.
Earlier this year, after Mercedes failed to perform up to the team’s superb standards, the team decided to return James Allison, their Chief Technical Officer at the time, back to his previous position of Technical Director.
Now, the team is working hard to hopefully get back to fighting for race wins, and ultimately the world championship.
In a talk with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said Allison is the best man to get them there, when it comes to their tech department.

“He is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met,” the Austrian said.
“I helped him with a year out of the ring, to get some distance and then return after Mike left.
“I wouldn’t have hoped for anyone better than him to manage the technical department,” Wolff concluded.
