Lewis Hamilton talks about his retirement and whether he plans on remaining in Formula 1 after his driving career is over.

During an interview with Spanish newspaper AS, 36-year-old Lewis Hamilton was asked if he intends to continue competing in Formula 1 into his forties, like Kimi Raikkonen.

“I think not,” said the Briton.

“I don’t think I’m going to drive forever, even though this was the biggest ride of my life.

“There are a lot of things that I want to continue to do in a season, but there are others that I don’t.

“I have five years left for that, and I don’t think I’ll keep going after that. Even if you should never say never.”

The seven-time champion was then asked if he will remain interested in Formula 1 after he retires.

“I will always follow it closely, it has been my greatest passion and a privilege to be part of this sport.

“I guess immediately after I quit I won’t see many races, because I’ll want to take a break. But in the end I’m going to want to follow it again, because I love it.

“Also, I think because of my role to promote diversity, and it will take a long time before we see drastic changes, perhaps in ten or twenty years, I will have to continue to talk to people like Stefano Domenicali [Formula 1 CEO],” concluded the seven-time champion.
