Christian Horner responds to Toto Wolff who said Red Bull employees CVs are floating around, and adds “we’ve taken 220 people out of [Mercedes] HPP into Red Bull Powertrains”.

Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown said that Adrian Newey’s departure has shaken the Red Bull team, which is evident from an “increase in CVs” coming from the team’s employees.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff later confirmed this was indeed the case.

“Zak is absolutely correct, we are seeing Red Bull CVs through all of the levels,” the Austrian said.

When asked about these comments, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner blasted both team principals.

“I think it’s inevitable, I think the two [team bosses] involved, they talk a lot, and I’m not going to get sucked into a tit for tat,” Horner said.

“But I’d be more focused on Toto’s own issues that he has, and I don’t have any concern with the strength and depth [of Red Bull], there’s always going to be movement between teams.

“I don’t know how many people we’ve employed from McLaren this year, or how many people [RB] has employed, but from Mercedes, we’ve taken 220 people out of HPP [Mercedes High Performance Powertrains] into Red Bull Powertrains.

“So when we’re talking of losing people, I’d be a bit more worried about the 220 people than one or two CVs,” the Briton concluded.
