Amid his escalating issues with Jos Verstappen, Christian Horner sends a message to Toto Wolff: “If he does want a Verstappen for next year then I guess Jos is potentially available.”
Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Toto Wolff once again expressed his interest in getting Max Verstappen to switch to Mercedes.
When Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was asked why Toto is constantly talking about this, he aimed an interesting dig at his rival.
“That’s a question you would have to ask Toto,” Horner said.
“Max was pretty resolute in what he said in this conference [on Thursday].
“He’s always been absolutely consistent with that with the team – I think it’s purely a tactic of distraction.

“If he does want a Verstappen for next year then I guess Jos is potentially available,” the Briton concluded.
What makes this comment so interesting is the fact that Horner and Verstappen Sr. had been involved in a feud for some time now, and things seemed to escalate ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.
More specifically, Jos was set to drive the 2012 Red Bull RB8 during the Legends Parade at the Red Bull Ring, however he then claimed that he has pulled out of the event, after Red Bull team boss Christian Horner tried to have him removed.
He ultimately even added that as soon as Red Bull can’t “build a car that wins”, then he knows “what will happen”, referring to Max’s possible exit from the team.
