Alpine boss Flavio Briatore says having a star like his countryman Kimi Antonelli is “good for F1” and “very good for Italy as well”.
There’s no doubt that Kimi Antonelli is the next big superstar of Formula 1, and with 81 points ahead of team-mate George Russell, he is very likely to become the youngest F1 world champion in history.
His countryman, legendary F1 team principal and current Alpine boss Flavio Briatore says Kimi is a big asset to Italy, and is taking away fans from Ferrari!
“In this moment in Italy you have two big names – [tennis player Janik] Sinner and Kimi,” the Italian said.
“I think Kimi takes away the fans from Ferrari as well, little by little, because really it’s incredible what he is performing this year.

“He’s performing incredibly. No mistakes, very strong, very clear and still very, very young.
“And like Stella said, it’s good for F1 and it’s very good for Italy as well, because to have the potential champion like Kimi is good for the sport, it’s good for the country.
“And we are lucky we have two super guys, Sinner and Kimi,” Briatore concluded.
Judging by how Kimi was accepted by the Tifosi, after winning the Italian Grand Prix, Briatore might really be onto something here.
