After scoring another one-two for Mercedes at the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas gave their first comments on the race.
“It wasn’t the easiest race I’ve had,“ said Hamilton.
“I’ve had several lock-ups as the tyre temperature slowly dropped. That was hard to deal with.
“I was pretty nervous that we were going to have a rerun of Silverstone, but it looks like the tyre is still good.
“I don’t think this is what everyone wants to see every week, Mercedes in the front row. However, there is a great mentality at the factory, no one celebrates there after a victory, they are looking for improvements for the next race.
“I’m 35 now, but I feel better than ever,” concluded the Briton.

With another finish behind Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas moves even further away from the 2020 world title.
“I had a chance at the start, but I think Lewis played it very cleverly in the first corner,“ said Bottas.
“I didn’t really have the momentum to go past him. I couldn’t pass him on the straight either. Those two things really made a difference.
“Lewis was already clear today and yesterday he was also strong. Luckily for me, there were no big problems in the race.
“Lewis got more points this weekend and I’m happy that we have another chance next week at Monza,” concluded the Finn.
