After finishing the Dutch Grand Prix in P8, Lewis Hamilton says had he “qualified where George was [P4] then I think I would have finished at least there, if not further ahead”.

Lewis Hamilton did not have a good time at in Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying, as after getting eliminated in Q2 and receiving a three-place grid penalty, he had to start the race from P14.

However, in the race Lewis made some great overtakes, and ultimately finished the race in P8.

While George Russell said after the race that he was not happy with his car, Lewis on the other hand says the car felt better than it did in qualifying.

“I was much happier today,” Lewis said.

“I was moving forwards, progressing, moving in the right direction, just too far back unfortunately.

“If I qualified where George [Russell] was [in P4] then I think I would have finished at least there, if not further ahead.

“I think we could have been close to a podium. I don’t know if we were faster than Ferrari, but there were elements of our pace that was strong.

“The car was not great compared to the last race, when we had a lot more pace.

“We were closer to others today [than in qualifying],” Hamilton concluded.
